The American Flag, or "Old Glory," is one of the most powerful symbols of the modern world. It has several diverse meanings for different people.

The American flag represents sacrifice, honor, and duty for many veterans and active military members. It is a powerful symbol of their commitment to protect and serve their country, often at great personal cost. The flag is a reminder of the bravery and camaraderie shared among those who have served under it.

For immigrants, the American flag is a beacon of hope and opportunity. It symbolizes the possibility of a better life and the chance to pursue the American Dream. The flag embodies the promise of freedom and the potential for success through hard work and determination, inspiring immigrants in their journey.

To civil rights activists, the American flag symbolizes the ideals of freedom and equality that the nation strives for and the ongoing struggle to achieve these ideals for all citizens. It serves as a call to action to continue fighting for justice and to hold the country accountable to its founding principles.

The American flag can also be a symbol of protest. It represents the right to dissent and the freedom to criticize government actions and policies. In this context, the flag is a reminder of the importance of free speech and the need to continually strive for a more just and equitable society.

For most Americans, the flag is, first and foremost, a symbol of national pride and unity. It represents the country's history, values, and achievements. Displaying the flag is a way to express love for the nation and to celebrate its independence and democratic principles.

We can not know for certain why the owner of this barn among a flowered pasture chose to depict the flag in all its glory upon a roof for all to see, but the impulse was surely driven by the powerful emotions evoked by Old Glory and the country for which it stands.

Senkarik's paintings are characterized by their exuberant style and vibrant color, bringing viewers "A World of Happiness."

Senkarik, born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee 1954, began her artistic journey at the University of South Florida, eventually earning a Master's in Medical Illustration from the Medical College of Georgia. Her nine-year career as a medical illustrator, during which she contributed to over 47 primary medical textbooks and was honored five times with the Award of Excellence, was a testament to her talent and dedication. In 1990, she boldly transitioned to fine art, a decision inspired by her late husband, Jack White, the Texas State Artist. Under his guidance, she developed her unique style, turning personal challenges into a flourishing artistic career.
