If you've ever had a dragonfly land on you, you've probably been told it's a symbol of good luck. In Chinese, Indian, and Greek cultures, the dragonfly symbolizes prosperity and change. It represents transformation- from an aquatic larva that looks like a fish to a beautiful, helpful, flying creature.

Native Americans considered dragonflies messengers from the spirit guides and ancestors, offering guidance or protection.

The insect's beautiful iridescent wings evoke a sense of mysticism, wonder, and ethereal magic. They come in many colors, from bright yellow to red, blue, and green. Some have vibrant metallic colors, while others are more subdued.

Dragonflies have been around virtually unchanged for over 300 million years and were some of the first winged insects to evolve.

They can fly in any direction, including sideways and backward, which is handy when catching bugs and mosquitoes. They're also fast, with some species reaching a top speed of 18 mph.

Look at a dragonfly's head. You will see their incredible eyes, composed of 30,000 facets, giving them nearly 360-degree vision, with just one blind spot behind them. This extraordinary vision makes them incredibly effective hunters. They help us by controlling pest insects, especially those that threaten us most, such as mosquitoes. A single dragonfly can eat hundreds of mosquitoes daily.

Let the transformational dragonfly remind you to stay fully present as you enjoy this colorful, iridescent wooden jigsaw puzzle.
