This puzzle is based on the famous English Christmas Carol, "The Twelve Days of Christmas."

The song is believed to have originated in the UK as a Children's rhyming game back in the early 1700s. There is no consensus on where it came from, but some scholars think it was initially a French import. Eventually, the words and lyrics were published, with over twenty slightly different variations being produced.

The twelve days in the song refer to the way the Christmas season was historically counted in Europe. The first day was Christmas Day, and the twelfth day (or Twelfth Night) was January 5th, the day before the Epiphany on January 6th. This is traditionally the last day of Christmas and the day when all Christmas decorations are supposed to come down (yes, I know some of you leave them up all year, but the superstitious Olde English person would tell you that is bad luck).

The perfect gift for wooden Christmas jigsaw puzzlers and Christmas enthusiasts, this traditional adult wooden Christmas jigsaw puzzle can be done time and again. Our wooden Christmas jigsaw puzzle artists have included many holiday-themed, shaped whimsy wooden Christmas jigsaw puzzle pieces that match the subject of the painting, and we have integrated them in ways that will delight and surprise you as you put the wooden Christmas jigsaw puzzle together.
