This stunning painting is courtesy of the popular UK artist David Newton.

David paints images full of opulent pops of repetitive color, making for a wonderfully challenging puzzle image.

He is highly influenced by the works of Gustav Klimt. He loves the form and shape of trees, so many of his paintings have an art nouveau feel and center around the rolling hills and forests surrounding him in Oldbury. Just like Klimt's, his paintings are full of curvy lines, swirls, and circles, which draw the eye deeper into the painting and help us connect with the imagination of the image. But unlike Klimt, David's paintings don't have that current of eroticism and angst. They are welcoming, joyful, and whimsical and designed to be enjoyed by everyone.

This colorful tableau made us think of the Hansel and Gretel fairytale, where the children find a cozy cottage in the woods and seek shelter, only to discover that it is inhabited by an evil witch. Of course, they escape, so the story has a happy ending.

Our designer also adopted that idea, and you will find hidden in the many whimsy pieces Hansel and Gretel and, of course, the Wicked Witch.

But really, it's just a welcoming cottage, with a little wisp of smoke coming from the chimney, surrounded by a frost-covered path and sparkling wildflowers. All ready for you to work as a puzzle, on a chilly winter's day.
