Our brains delight in recognizing and understanding patterns. Viewing fractals and geometric patterns activates a sense of joy and curiosity, engaging the brain's love for order and symmetry.

But patterns are more than polka dots and stripes. They help make sense of all that information through recurring and regular arrangements and by creating a sense of harmony.

A fractal is a never-ending pattern. They are infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar across different scales. They are created by repeating a simple process over and over in an ongoing feedback loop.

Fractals are not just a mathematical concept. They are prevalent in nature, adding a touch of awe-inspiring beauty to our surroundings. Trees, rivers, coastlines, mountains, clouds, seashells, hurricanes - all these natural wonders are adorned with fractals.

With their natural appeal, fractals have a unique power over our minds. The fact that they are naturally occurring patterns found in nature, makes them aesthetically pleasing to our brains. This natural appeal often leads to a reduction in stress and mental fatigue when we view them. It's as if our visual system is evolved to recognize and appreciate these repeating patterns across different scales, providing us with a moment of calm in our busy lives.

Our ancestors may have benefited from recognizing fractal patterns in their environment, like navigating through dense forests. This ability to recognize and find comfort in fractals has been passed down to us, making them soothing and stress-relieving. So here it is, your moment of Zen, albeit in puzzle form.
